Absolutely idyllic. Great accommodation, fantastic location. Racehorses past the window every morning, lambs gamboling in the field, so peaceful. Village lovely, three pubs, shop, chippy (very good), and chinese take away, plus a castle within yards (Richard 111). Fabulous welcome from the owners, with a personal talk through of local things to do, where to eat etc. Came home feeling 5 years younger, and 5lbs fatter. Mr S, SUDBURY 28 March 2011
Fantastic welcome. Truly beautiful setting, charming property, charming hosts. Beautiful part of the country. Miss R, Thetford, Norfolk 02 November 2010
Wonderful weather, views, cottage and genial hosts. We would love to return. Mr B, SUTTON, Surrey 14 October 2010
The perfect week. An excellent cosy cottage with beautiful surroundings, and we were lucky with the weather!
A lovely warm welcome. Mr H, ORPINGTON, Kent 14 October 2010
Excellent cottage in excellent location, plenty of walks from the door step, you can literally leave your car parked up for a week. Mr H, Leeds, West Yorkshire 13 October 2010
Thank you for the warm welcome and the wine. We have enjoyed our week here, going home heavier than we arrived (salads until Christmas). If we come back to the Dales we know where to come. Mrs S, Scunthorpe, South Humberside 27 September 2010
Thanks so much for the lovely stay in your cottage. All the advice and suggestions were very helpful and the bottle of wime most wecome, thank you very much! Highly recommended - The Ingleton Waterfall Walk and food at The White Swan. We'll be back. Mr R, Dereham, Norfolk 27 September 2010
A lovely, quirky little cottage and the owner was very welcoming, he also gave us a nice bottle of wine and told us to help ourselves to vegetables from the garden - all just nice little gestures. The finish is superb, everything you need is there and it is the cleanest cottage we have ever rented. For me the icing on the cake was a little wood burning stove, and as many logs as we wanted to burn (in reality you would be fine with the radiators, but we turned thme down at night and lit the stove). The best pub in the village is the nearest one, called the Bull (or perhaps the Bull's Head, serving well kept Greene King IPA at £2.25 a pint. It is very much the pub where the locals drink and is about 50 yards from The Round House. Mr C, PUDSEY, 01 March 2010
the cottage was in a lovely part of the dales and the cottage was superb the owners were very welcoming and helpful. Mr H, BIRMINGHAM, West Midlands 22 February 2010
A fantastic break for two. A warm welcome on arrival with very useful information on the area. A beautiful village. Lots to do and see. Thank you for such a great week to relax and unwind. Miss W, YORK, North Yorkshire 16 January 2010
The Round House is a perfect romantic hideaway, very thoughtfully and tastefully presented. Middleham is a lovely village, the countryside is stunning and there is loads to see and do locally. The owners have 3 cottages for couples - all hidden away in a secret garden location although none is overlooked. Next time we'll be back with friends. Highly recommended Mrs V, BARNSLEY, South Yorkshire 24 November 2009
I would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing peaceful get away. It is kept to a high standard and was the perfect hub for visiting all the nearby villages. Mr C, MARLOW, Buckinghamshire 16 November 2009
Ideal location for visiting Richmond, Leyburn, Hawes etc, central location for walking in Coverdale, Wensleydale and Swaledale, or alternately walks on the nearby moors and gallops. Plenty of local pubs and good food (The Sandpiper Inn in Leyburn - 3 miles - is probably the best eating establishment in Yorkshire. Cannot go wrong for home comforts, relaxation and enjoyment - orchard and vegetable garden with a patio and superb view all in front of the cottage. Mr S, Barnsley, South Yorkshire 07 September 2009
The accommodation was unique, the owners very friendly and the area stunning. You have so much within the area that it would suit most people. Mrs S, LOUTH 29 June 2009
This was a fantastic holiday! The cottage is a unique, cosy and beautiful little hideaway set in lovely grounds, whose owners are very friendly and hospitable. The location is a great base for exploring the Dales too. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this holiday to others! Miss P, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire 05 June 2009
The Roundhouse is an unusaual and pretty property in a fantastic location. Middleham has everything you need within a 2 minute walk but still retains its village charm. Also the surrounding Dales are easily accessible. Mr H, Solihull, West Midlands 14 March 2009
Lovely cosy cottage made all the more magical with the snow. Middleham is a delightful village, lovely to walk up on the moor and to watch the racehorses on the gallops. Four pubs in the village, all very welcoming and serving good food. Places of interest in the local area are, Leyburn, Hawes, Ripon and Masham. In Masham we visited the black sheep brewery, highly recommended. Already looking forward to our next visit and would highly recommend staying at the round house. Mr E, MORPETH, 22 February 2009
We had a fantastic long weekend at the Round House in Middleham. Cosy cottage, lovely warm welcome and helpful local information. We'll definitely be recommending it to all our friends and hope to go back soon. Mrs L, leeds 20 October 2008
Lovely accommodation set in beautiful grounds. Great location with local pubs, restaurants, shops, fantastic views all on your doorstep. Owner was very welcoming and helpful. Mr D, Wirral 15 September 2008
I have to say I've been staying at this property for a few years now before Hoseasons had the contract, as I know Rodger & Hilary very well and they are good friends. He will always leave a few sheep in the field for me to see whenever I come up, and they were good friends to my parents when they were alive. It is very a sheltered cotttage so you can barbeque most of the time and the villagers are very friendly. Mr S, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire 12 July 2008
If you really want to unwind visit the Dales and enjoy the benefit of the hospitality and friendliness of the area. We even found a local telephone box with a directory and Yellow Pages on the shelf - that just about says it all!! It would be difficult to improve on the holiday as all aspects were excellent! Mr B, Sheffield, South Yorkshire 25 April 2008
I thought the cottage was of a very high standard, had all the facilities you needed and it was really cosy with the log burner. Really clean, and the owner was really helpful and welcoming! Mrs B, Stowmarket, Suffolk 24 March 2008
The village and accommodation was excellent and I would certainly recommend this property to anyone. We will be going back soon! Mr W, Leeds, West Yorkshire 03 December 2007
